January - Garnet --This birthstone is most commonly a deep red. In ancient folklore, garnet was believe to have magical properties, assuring the wearer of love and faithfulness.

February - Amethyst -This beautiful stone can be found in a varying purple tones. It is said that amethyst encourages inner peace, fights addictive behavior, and transforms energy. It is considered the most protected of all the gems, and it strengthens the wearer’s spiritual vibrations.

March - Aquamarine - In the same family of stones as emeralds, “aquamarine” means “Seawater”. Reminiscent of the clear blue ocean, gazing into this lovely stone is said to promote peace and tranquility.

April - Diamond - Those with birthdays in April are fortunate to claim the diamond as their birthstone. Strongest natural substance on earth, diamonds are believed to offer protection and strength in the face of adversity.

May - Emerald - Beloved and admired for their bold green coloring, emerald evoke wonder for the natural world. This stone had been linked to fertility and creativity.

June - Alexandrite - This stone is well known for being extremely rare and very costly. The quality of color changes with different illumination is the basis for its quality and price. No more than one person out of 100,000 has ever seen a real alexandrite.

July - Ruby - Rubies can be more valuable than diamonds when flawless. Associated with royalty and the power of life , rubies have been highly revered for thousands of years.

August - Peridot - The bright, clear green of August’s birthstone makes for radiant and exciting jewelry. No wonder that this stone, found in lava, was traditionally associated with the sun and endowed with mans mystical powers.

September - Sapphire - A cousin of the ruby, sapphires most traditionally are an intoxicating blue. However, few people realize that sapphire are available in every
color of the rainbow . Virgos can enjoy wearing a stone connected with vision, purity, and spiritual enlightenment.

October -Tourmaline - This stone comes in many colors, such as blue, yellow , pink, red, black and green . This stone attracts goodwill, inspiration and friendship. It is also believed to protect the wearer against misfortune and anemia.

November - Citrine - According to ancient folklore, sunny yellow citrine connotes a sense of balance and well -being. It attracts self-worth, dissolves emotional blocks and induces pleasant dreams.

December -Tanzanite - While turquoise is often used as December’s birthstone, many jewelers now celebrate this month with tanzanite. Discovered in Tanzania in the 1960’s, no other gem has become so popular so fast. Found only in one hilly area Tanzania, this striking purplish-blue stone is a gem of rare beauty.
